This is my new "selvage" wall hanging. I 've got to say I had soooo much fun making this. It is totally liberating to create something and not be hampered by seam allowances and cutting shapes. I was inspired to do this by Karen Griska at
her Selvage Blog. There are such interesting projects made from people all over the world. My hanging is 38" X 38" and consists of 64 4" blocks. Everyone should try something made from selvages and even if it's only a pincushion. I took the time to actually read the selvages and it brought back alot of memories.

Your quilt turned out beautifully. I love to visit Karen's blog and see all of the creative things made with selvages. Who would have thought?
that is one of the prettiest selvage quilts that I have seen. I have a lot of short pieces to that would work wll in 4" blocks. I might just start making some blocks as a long term project.
The quilt is terrific. I would never have guessed what you could do with the salvages of fabric. It eye catching.
Wow, I agree with Wanda! I love this, just beautiful. I think you have just made me add another to my long list of to do's!
That is so pretty!!! (but it really needs a cat on it)
We're supposed to save them? Oh dear.
I agree that this is one of the best selvage quilts I've seen. I also agree it needs a cat's approval.
Lynne,
What a stunning selvage quilt. I'm surprised that you got so much detail in little 4-inch squares. Great Job!!
Karen
wow!!! Do you use the blank selvage's with no writing/dots - it seems most of mine are not as interesting as all the ones in this quilt!!! Fantastic work :)
Fantastic! I love it, and especially love the border! I really love selvage quilting and love reading Karen's blog for inspiration!
Pretty! I like how you did the border. Great idea!
